There are many different shower pumps on the market to take in to consideration the differing types of cold and hot water systems that you may have in your home. There are now shower pumps available that will work with very little tank feed pressure and even negative feed pressure. Typically a hot water cylinder and cold water storage tank provide the feeds to a twin impeller pump which could provide 1.5 bar of pressure upwards. To give you an idea, 1 bar of pressure is equal to the pressure exerted by water stored 10 meters above the outlet of the shower head approximately.
